Celebrating Diversity and the Future Leaders of our Community

Global Village Project is a tuition-free, nonprofit middle school for refugee young women. GVP bridges the communities of Clarkston, where many refugee families settle when they first arrive in Georgia, and Decatur, where our school was founded in partnership with Agnes Scott College and Decatur Presbyterian Church. We are excited to be hosting our 6th Annual Welcome Walk (formerly the Connecting Communities Walk) on November 3rd, a 4.8 mile walk along the PATH Trail from Clarkston to Downtown Decatur. With this annual event, we welcome new and old friends to our community and celebrate the diversity that each group brings to our growing 'global village' in metro Atlanta.

Every dollar we raise by walking helps provide life-changing educational opportunity to refugee young women at GVP. Our Welcome Walk is growing. Last year, we increased the number of participants by 25%. This year, with your help, we hope to bring together 300 walk participants and hold our largest event to date!

The Global Village Welcome Walk 2018 has ended. Be sure to check Global Village Project's website at www.globalvillageproject.org to keep an eye out for next year's event! We'd also love to have you join us at our Author's Teas throughout the school year. Dates will be announced on our website and through social media and our newsletter.
